As a business anthropologist and sparring partner, I have knowledge of many different cultures and have specialized in American business culture, communication, persuasion and listening. I am not here to teach you anything. I am here to help you remember what you know but have forgotten.
To convince and inspire others, you need to know where their minds are
1. You need to know what is of value to the other person. First, you need to know what their vision and goals are and how you can contribute to them. Second, you need to learn how to listen deeply. If you listen well to them, they will be more willing to listen to you. How? You learn how to listen attentively, use pauses, challenge assumptions and ask open-ended questions so that you trigger their thinking and yours.
2. You apply persuasion techniques to your presentation so they understand why it is essential to do it this way. You tell them only what they need to know and you do it immediately with a catchy message, in a catchy way. They have no time to waste, so dare to leave out details. You learn how to keep their attention.
3. You will learn how to control your nerves to take a short pause before and during meetings to check how you feel, so you can relax more and think freely before you respond. You will learn how to use your breathing to become calm, appear calm, confident and authentic.
Thoughts, breathing and feelings influence each other
Your thoughts have a positive or negative influence on how you feel. Breathing affects the number of thoughts and whether they are positive or negative. Your breathing also affects your emotions. High breathing can mean being anxious, tense, and brooding. Your breathing further affects how energetic you feel and whether your day “flows” or is laborious. Any anxiety, nerves and tension can be thoroughly addressed and positively turned around during the coaching classes if necessary. You can bring back peace in your mind and work.
The classes will help you grow and build confidence in you. It will help you lead others. This is a holistic approach for anyone who is or wants to be a leader. We all lead.
