Transforming Meetings

The best possible results from your meeting

The quality of the group’s thinking depends on the way participants treat each other during the meeting. Our best thinking is not possible when we interrupt and tailgate each other. We simply don’t listen well to each other. This is neither on purpose nor is it very productive. As a result new ideas remain untapped, fresh thinking slows down and people get overlooked.

  • How often do you feel that meetings have been ineffective and lead nowhere?
  • How often do you or your colleagues switch off in meetings?
  • How often do you think the same people talk and repeat and other opinions are not listened to?

Better ideas, solutions, decisions and actions

If you want to increase the output of your team members and want shorter, effective meetings in which you accomplish more in less time, then this is for you and your team members. The solution is to create a way of being in meetings and a process that will encourages these results. It is the Thinking Environment®– a practical and dependable system for personal growth and understanding developed by Nancy Kline and Time to Think.

The challenges:

  • we often don’t give people the opportunity to think, really think.
  • we interrupt and jump in with our own thoughts, ideas and solutions.
  • we get distracted sometimes with our thoughts or what else is going on around us.
  • we may be unaware of our own biases and become less open-minded.
  • we don’t ask questions to think more, we ask questions to validate our own thoughts.
  • we just don’t listen.
